One of the greatest events, the Expo 2020, meant to be held in Dubai from October 2020 to April 2021. As a result of the Coronavirus global spread, it is uncertain if, the event will still be held this year. Organisers and officials of the Expo 2020 Dubai are reassessing a proposal to postpone the event for one year. Participating nations have extended their full support and solidarity after a decision earlier this week to assess the possibility of a one-year postponement because of the current global health crisis.

The UAE government has formally requested a change in the dates of Expo 2020 Dubai, beginning 1 October 2021 and running to 31 March 2022.

Stating “We now await the full Member States’ final decision, in due course, following their vote between 24 April and 29 May”

The Expo 2020 site is in the Dubai South district and spans 4.38 square kilometers. Located close to Al Maktoum International Airport and within easy reach of Dubai International Airport, Abu Dhabi International Airport and Dubai and Abu Dhabi Cruise Terminals. The Expo site will also have its own metro station, capable of transporting 36,000 passengers per hour. Al Wasl dome encircles the Al Wasl Plaza that sits at the heart of the Expo 2020 Dubai site. It will be the focal point for the celebrations.
